Amack receives NHA’s Caring Kind Award

September 29, 2016

Henderson Health Care’s Professional Services Officer, Shelly Amack, RN, has been chosen by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) to receive the 2016 Caring Kind Award. For 37 years, the NHA has paid tribute to Nebraska’s most caring hospital workers with this award. This prestigious award honors outstanding health care employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities.

Amack was nominated by HHC Human Resources Director, Lisa Tessman, who said, “Shelly exhibits the unique combination of progressive, visionary, and professional leadership with also lending a sincere and caring hand in direct patient care. She definitely leads by example and has always been willing to help her staff. Shelly truly believes in what rural healthcare can offer and it shows in all she does for HHCS and the patients the facility serves!”

“Shelly has exemplified tremendous commitment to rural healthcare. Throughout her years at HHCS, she has served as an RN for the medical clinic and the critical access hospital, and then spent eight years serving as the hospital’s Director of Nursing. In August 2015, Shelly moved into the Professional Services Officer position, where she now oversees acute, quality improvement, lab, pharmacy, radiology, specialty clinic, and physical therapy departments,” said Tessman.

Amack will receive the Caring Kind Award at the NHA annual convention in October.

The mission of the NHA is to be the influential and unified voice for Nebraska’s hospitals and health systems, providing leadership and resources to enhance the delivery of quality patient care and services to Nebraska communities.

Located in Henderson, Nebraska, Henderson Health Care is a full-service medical facility encompassing a critical access hospital, two rural health clinics, specialty clinics, diagnostic services, long term care, assisted living and independent living.
