Nurse Manager – Hospital – Full Time

Henderson Health Care Services, Inc., a progressive, rural healthcare facility, is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for its thirteen bed Critical Access Hospital

 This position includes the following core duties:

  • Responsible for the daily supervision of the nursing staff in conjunction with CNO.
  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies to align with evidence based practice.
  • Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; making or recommending adjustments.
  • Oversees nursing staff education and maintenance of competencies for nursing staff in conjunction with the Education Coordinator
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • May assist in patient care when feasible. Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes.
  • Encourage continued personal and professional growth of nursing personnel and provide opportunities for education and continued competency/learning through period CEU Programs, staff meetings, and skills days.
  • Provides patient care supervision.
  • Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce.
  • Performs employee relations functions effectively to promote a positive work environment, influence retention and enhance communication.
  • Assists in management of departmental financial operations.
  • Participates in and promotes HHC committees, quality assurance, performance and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations.
  • Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of HHC operations and requirements of the HHC Compliance Program.
  • Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
  • Presents self in a professional manner and enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the State of Nebraska.  Two or more years of healthcare experience in an acute setting is desirable.
