Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology

We are proud to welcome Dr. Vinay Mehta and Dr. Szalewski to Henderson Health Care. Both are board-certified allergists with Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Associates, P.C. in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Dr. Mehta completed a residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic and a fellowship in allergy/immunology at Creighton University. He is a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI). His clinical interests include urticaria/angioedema, chronic sinusitis, vocal cord dysfunction, asthma, and eosinophilic esophagitis. Dr. Mehta was the primary investigator for many clinical trials related to asthma, atopic dermatitis, chronic sinusitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, and hereditary angioedema.

Besides patient care, Dr. Mehta enjoys teaching. He serves as volunteer faculty for Lincoln Family Practice and Union College. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Christian Medical College (Vellore, India), where he helps train allergists throughout India.

 

Dr. Szalewski spent most of his life in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biology. He completed medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center prior to crossing over into Iowa to complete his Internal Medicine Residency and subsequent Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has always had a love for medicine and dreams of a career in Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Szalewski met his wife Lindsey, an elementary school teacher, in college, and they have three children that keep them very busy at home: Lucas, Claire, and Sophie. He is a diehard Husker and loves to attend Nebraska sporting events. Outside of work and family life, his other hobbies include fishing and anything outdoors, playing guitar, and food.

 

You can begin scheduling with Dr. Mehta and Dr. Szalewski today! Both will be on the HHC campus one time per month in rotating fashion.
