Position

Henderson Health Care Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time or part-time, night CNA for its long term care facility, Legacy Square. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assure resident safety.
  • Perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures initiated by the facility
  • Work under the direction of the Charge Nurse
  • Follow safety precautions at all times by utilizing equipment and assistive devices
  • Provide care for the residents by meeting their needs
  • Feed residents as required with proper utensils.  Distribute meal trays. 
  • Perform vital signs as directed by the Charge Nurse
  • Assist residents with ADL’s including but not limited to: eating, dressing, going to the bathroom, including using bedpan or urinal, bathing, personal and oral hygiene.
  • Assist residents in and out of bed and transferring to and from chair/wheelchair.
  • Assist residents with ambulation as assigned and per plan of care
  • Answer call lights and give assistance as soon as possible
  • Change bed linens when necessary and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Assist the Charge Nurse with admissions and dismissals
  • Inform the Charge Nurse of any abnormalities such as red areas, wounds, appetite change, change in elimination, complaints of illness or pain
  • Maintain cleanliness and disinfect areas as needed. 
  • Collect laundry and deliver to the Laundry Department
  • Collect and dispose of trash at the end of the shift
  • Participate in committees as assigned by the Director of Nursing or MDS Coordinator
  • Utilize infection control techniques, including but not limited to handwashing, sanitizers, masks, or other methods to reduce spread of infection
  • Perform all other duties assigned and directed by the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing
  • Abide by employee immunization/vaccination policies

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory.  Must be a certified nursing assistant in the state of Nebraska and be found on the registry. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education and/or Experience

Must have completed a nursing assistant training course. Experience in geriatric nursing experience is desirable.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

Current Nebraska Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. CPR preferred (BLS).
